La Salle arts school fired a local Malay-Singaporean programmer and hired an Indian programmer for $300 less per month in 2008. He later blackmailed the school twice to increase his pay beyond what the school paid our fellow Singaporean by refusing to share the programming code.
Meanwhile, he was able to build two large houses back in India taking his long vacation days whether the school like it or not.
Finally, the school had to spend another $300,000 to start a new program from scratch when they could not stand his blackmail!!!
This is what Singapore PAP government, institutions and companies MUST LEARN that Singaporeans are here to stay BUT FT and FW do NOT take Singapore as their own country no matter how much you pay or treat them!!!
Worst, the bitterness of many Singaporeans of ALL RACES has finally been felt by the PAP in this 2011 GE but it will be a toss up whether PM Lee Jr. is sincere in stopping the influx, changing by increasing the number of years before such FT can become the PR and then also qualify to buy HDB flat which is our public and NOT private housing!!!

The only way to deal with 3rd world ah neh is to treat them with 3rd world methods. Fucking La Salle should just arrange for him to be fish food. Those ah neh not happy, just dump a corpse into our water supply but we have to listen so nicely to them?

There should be many more of such incidents that have gone unreported. The actual number could be alarming. However, it is not an easy task to compile such a number because the companies that suffer losses due to this kind of FTs are likely to keep quiet and no official entity is being established to record, collate and publish them (including the names of those culprits) to the public. So, there is a high chance that this problematic FT will stay back and find another gullible company in S'pore to employ him. S'poreans should know by now why FTs often have the last laugh. :(

La-Salle case is nothing la. My ex-company's case is worse.

Subsidiary of a local listed company. Hired an Indian IT guy on S-Pass and helped him apply for his PR soon after. Company needed a basic ERP system and was got him to source. He recommended an Indian company which promised the customizations that the various depts needed.

He planned the timeline and execution, lots of data entry done by all dept, a few progressive payments were made. Since he wad the coordinator, all depts were not really aware of the problems the others had. He whitewashed everything and just kept approving the payments.

In the meantime, he got married to a matchmade wife back home and bought a flat here.

Things became serious when different depts started complaining that after all the data entry and after many many months of tuning, the software was not able to do what it promised. Imagine an ERP software that doesn't include quote generation, invoice generation, and thus, accounts payable and receivables??!! Everything had to be double keyed into stupid excel tables.

By now, his wife is not used to living here and wants to go back home. So, he somehow managed to engineer a buy off for the system so that the Indian company got paid in full. A total of around $250k.

Then he resigned, rented out his flat and went back home. His rental from the HDB covers both his HDB installment and his installment back home for his new house!!!

And.... He joins that Indian software company!!! Then he tells us that if we need some more "fixing" to the software to clear the glitches, the company needs to pay them, module by module!!

Now, this is really called being screwed!!! $250k paid and still at their mercy and living with a crap software! LaSalle is lucky already. They only wasted time.

This is something our armchair policy makers will never learn, always sitting on their hypocitical moral high horse and staying in their ivory towers.

Sometimes treating these 3rd world ppl with overdose of respective and kindness may be conjured by them as the givers' weakness, and they climb all over your head.

This kind of incident is quite common in Ah Neh infested organisation. If your company got any Ah Neh accountant or Ah Neh programmer, the best thing you should do is run away as fast as possible to avoid being implicated. Otherwise when they are gone, your boss will force the local to clean up their shits....smelly one.
