What is very important for Singapore is that the community remains strong. The government is doing a lot more especially for low-income folks and our senior citizens - some important new initiatives in this year's budget, and in the last few years - we're doing a lot more.
"But as (MP Jurong GRC) Desmond (Lee) puts it, just as important and at the end of the day, more important are the ground-up initiatives - initiatives by volunteers, community activists, initiatives that bring people together to help others, especially to help our lower-income folks, and our senior citizens, to stay active, stay well, stay healthy.
