An Indian engineer named Sujoy K. Guha is devising what could be the most revolutionary contraceptive technology -- some 30 years in the making -- since the birth control pill.

Reported on July 12 in news site Globalpost, the new technology is called RISUG, reversible inhibition of sperm under guidance, which is a surgery-free, injectable and reversible vasectomy.

According to the report, stage three clinical trials are already underway in India, and the treatment could be available as early as next year.

San Francisco activist Elaine Lissner is also backing the new contraception and aims to help push RISUG in the US under the trade name Vasalgel.

Other new birth control advancement in the works include a clear contraceptive gel that could replace birth control pills and patches.

Just 3 mg daily, applied to arms, legs, shoulders, or abdomen, was shown to be a suitable alternative to the pill, according to researchers, who tested the gel on 18 women.

Common pill side effects such as nausea and weight gain didn't occur in the test group, and researchers reported that the gel can even be used while breastfeeding.

The gel was developed in conjunction with the drug company Antares Pharma, which hopes to market the product if the clinical trial results continue to be positive.

Also in the pipeline is a contraceptive spray developed by Australia biotech company Acrux. The spray (a so-far unnamed product) showed positive results in early clinical trials, although more work is needed before it becomes available. And like the gel, it can be used while breastfeeding.

good................velly good...................

the India govt should have their agents go round sterilizing their own people................so easy now

Its no use.. These Ah Nehs will still be breeding like rats..

This is godsend for India to make their ambition to become world power within reach! May this be true and 110% irreversible! May the India gov fully pay for the technology and 100% of India gets this antidote so India will be able to concentrate their immense wealth in the few babies they have now and rule the world! Congratulaion to India and the world!

In India....a box of condom is much more expensive than paying for a prostitute....

In India, their dicks are too small for the average size condom we all find fitting or too small.

this is a great answer to their problem. they should consider using these new drug to men who already have 2 child, and keep it there. the world is not big enough to sustain 7 billion, and it's not enough for 9 billion (by 2050 world population is going to reach 9 billion)

Lee Kuan Yew should be the Prime Minister for India, and implement the stop at 2 policy in India, and this will be a good move.

it seems to be a trend that the poorer the people, the more children they have... can't blame them, they can't afford condoms, and their only source of entertainment is sex.

All overpoulated countries like India, China, Indonesia, Philippines, African nations, South American nations, Mediteranean countries etc should introduce forced steriliazation. This will enable available resources to last longer and eradicate famine. The biggest impediment to birth control is religion ie Islam and Christinaity. While clerics oppose birth control, they will never lift a finger to send aid to countries that suffer the consequences of over-popluation. Recently I saw on TV news of food being sent to Somalia by the UN. This food will translate into more babies and more request for humanitarian aid. Sheesh!

UN is an evil entity... and Africans need not go through so much famine, famine are all politically induced.

United Nations are more interested in harvesting other people's resources than really to help... a bunch of hypocrites!
