Did you miss out completely on Tony Tan being a candidate? Having gone on about how a number of luminaries had been approched for the EP, has this surprised you?
There is only one person in PAP who could have asked him to stand (or have the muscle to twist him arm hard enough). And its not the current PM.
So all the running around by the other guys are pretty useless. Somehow, the old man still calls the shots. And by a long margin.
