Passion is something that our PAP ministers and MPs badly needs to learn from hawkers as well...When Minister Teo Chee Hean said "I do appreciate that many may still feel that $1.1 million is a very high figure. But I hope you will also see it from the point of view of a person possessing these qualities and the passion to serve the country", he doesn't get it. Passion is independent of salary. Look at the popular hawkers. Their profit margin is low, but it is the passion they pass on through their food that brings the customers back. Passion should determine salary and not the other way round.
 

actually pap are like those arrogant hawkers. we all experienced them before. those hawkers who give bad service, so-so food and charge high price comparatively, all coz their food yummy in the past and ppl die die still queue for their food thinking that it is still good or at least better than the competition. in short, some hawkers are also assholes and screw that hawker analogy :)
