Sarawak Ibans involved in Kallang murder: Stop importing 'time-bombs'
STOMPer Khong notes that the men involved in the Kallang killings are Sarawakian Ibans who are known to be "drinkers who enjoy being intoxicated". The STOMPer feels that employers in Singapore should be wary of bringing them here to work.
In the STOMPer's email:
"These men are Sarawak Ibans who celebrate Gawai (the Iban new year) but they are also traditional drinkers who enjoys being intoxicated.
"Employers who bring them into our shores must understand their mindset and culture, and not import time-bombs onto our shores."
In the late hours of May 29, four knife attacks in the Kallang area had left one man dead and three others seriously hurt in hospital.
Three Sarawakian men have been charged in court for the murder of Indian national Shanmuganathan Dillidurai, 41.
In The New Paper report yesterday (Jun 3), Mr Ali Mahaboob, 53, who runs a provision shop near where the seven suspects live, said, "I know that when they are drunk, they won't stop to think if you are a friend or not."
