Police bust illegal gambling den along Aliwal Street

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested seven men, aged between 22 and 57 years, suspected of online gaming.

They were caught at about 8.40pm on October 1 at a shophouse along Aliwal Street.

Police said they were seen engaging in online gaming at individual computer terminals.

Two suspects, believed to be managing the gambling dens, were present and another suspect was found within the gaming premises.

Items used for gaming such as record books, 21 computers, modems, cash amounting to S$4,689 were seized.

Four of the suspects will be charged in Court on October 3 with gaming in a common gaming house, while two other suspects will be charged with managing a common gaming house.

Investigations against another suspect are ongoing.
