SINGAPORE: Swedish furniture giant Ikea has issued a recall for its BUSA children's folding tent.

The company said in statement that a steel wire frame of the tent can break in use.

"This can cause sharp wire ends to protrude through the tent fabric, creating a risk of a laceration or puncture injury to a child playing with the tent", it added.

So far, there have been three reported cases of the wire frame breaking and protruding through the tent fabric.

One of the incidents resulted in a minor injury.

The BUSA children's tent has been on sale since August.

Customers are urged to bring the product to the Exchange and Returns Counter at any Ikea store.

They will get a full refund.

I was surprised when I newly arrived in Australia and the supermarket shelf displayed a recall notice openly.

There is even a government website.
