Rotary phones were still around up until the mid-1980s. I remember playing with one. Life was simpler back then, especially during a time when your lanjiao was still hairless.

Talking about rotary phones, me and my younger cousin used to make random calls and control the circular dial while it's turning in such a way where we can always tap into the calls of others to eavesdrop on their conversation. Once we were bored, we would just scold them "Chow Chee Bye!" and hung up. It was so bloody fun.
