I think even among the chinese in singapore they don't really talk about dialect groups anymore. The younger generation consider every chinese dialect group just simply to be chinese thanks to the speak mandarin policy unless you happen to be jap or korean.
I suppose among the younger generation they don't ascribe another stereotype on another chinese dialect group unlike the older generation for obvious reasons.
Well i mean nowadays amongst the younger generation who ever hears about stuff like cantonese vs hokkien and so on? Those were old feuds back in those days long ago. Now if you belong to a chinese dialect group you are a chinese. That's how non chinese see them. Amongst the chinese well they might speak their own dialects among the family members but well overall they see themselves as chinese and no different from another chinese from another dialect group.
Malaysian chinese i don't know man. I would assume though that since they are all discriminated in mudland for being chinese they should put small petty differences aside. No point talking about different dialect groups in mudland. I know they speak better mandarin and have a stronger foundation in chinese compared to sinkies.
The concept of zero as a number is attributed to India. Also, Indians gave the world two great religions - Hinduism (world's oldest) and Buddhism in which many of its believers today happen to be Chinese people. So to be fair, can one really say they made no significant contribution?
Creates the number 0. Creates some silly religion. Chinese gave the world paper, gunpowder and the compass but ppl here are also saying how insignificant that is. It's really dumb that ppl even dare include something like a religion into the mix.
