...whereas if a vaccinated person dies or falls sick, the government is at pains to stress that the cause of death/illness is still being investigated, and there is no evidence that the death/illness is due to covid-19.

A person's medical history is private. Is the government in breach of privacy laws when it announces that the person is not vaccinated?

SINGAPORE - A 58-year-old Singaporean woman died on Monday (Aug 2) of Covid-19 complications.
She had not been vaccinated and had no underlying medical conditions.
The woman was confirmed on July 29 to have the virus and was a household contact of a patient who had visited Samy’s Curry Restaurant in Dempsey Road, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in an update on Wednesday night.
This brings the number of deaths from the virus in Singapore to 39.
A total of 95 new cases were confirmed on Wednesday. Of this number, 92 were locally transmitted, while three were imported.
Separately, free Covid-19 testing will be extended to anyone who visited Yuhua Market and Hawker Centre in Jurong East between July 21 and Wednesday.

The ministry said it has detected seven cases among people who had worked in or visited the hawker centre, and that there is likely to be ongoing transmission there.
The hawker centre will be closed from Thursday to Aug 19 for deep cleaning and to break the chain of transmission, said MOH.
“All individuals who work in the hawker centre have been placed in quarantine, and will be tested during quarantine,” it added.
An MP for Jurong GRC, Mr Xie Yao Quan, urged residents from Blocks 301 to 316, 329 to 341, and 371 to 374 in Jurong East to look out for SMS alerts from MOH and to see a doctor if they develop symptoms.

“I know Yuhua Hawker Centre is a popular spot for many of you... If you are not alerted, yet remain concerned, please consider antigen rapid test (ART) self-testing,” he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
The market will continue to operate while the hawker centre is closed for deep cleaning, said Jurong-Clementi Town Council. It added that it would help affected stallholders by waiving some of their fees during this period.

MOH also said that there are now 112 active Covid-19 clusters, up from 100 on Tuesday.
All 12 new clusters have between three and six patients each, and are not yet linked to specific locations.
Nine more cases have been linked to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster, bringing its case total to 1,115, said MOH. The KTV cluster also added one new case, for a total of 252 cases.
These are the two largest open clusters in Singapore.
Of the 555 cases hospitalised here, MOH said, there are 42 cases of serious illness and seven in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU).
There are 37 seniors above 60 years of age who have fallen very ill. Of this number, 31 are partially vaccinated or completely unvaccinated, said MOH.
Of the three imported cases, one was detected on arrival, while the other two developed the illness during stay-home-notice or isolation.
Out of the 92 locally transmitted cases, 54 have been linked to previous ones and quarantined, while eight were linked but not yet under quarantine when tested.
Thirty cases are currently unlinked.
As at Monday, 64 per cent of the population have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine under the national vaccination programme, while 77 per cent have received at least one dose, said MOH.

SINGAPORE - An unvaccinated 83-year-old Singaporean woman died from complications due to Covid-19 infection on Saturday (July 24).
She resided at Bukit Merah View, and was linked to the Block 121 Bukit Merah View cluster, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said last night.
The woman developed symptoms on June 16 but did not seek medical attention until she was taken to the National University Hospital on June 18. She had a history of high blood pressure and hyperlipidaemia, or high cholesterol.
A total of 37 people have died from complications due to Covid-19 infection here.
Two new clusters were reported by MOH on Saturday, while two clusters were closed.
One of the new active clusters is at Samy's Curry Restaurant at 25 Dempsey Road, with a total of eight cases linked to it.

To break the chain of transmission and enable deep cleaning of the premises, the restaurant will be closed from today to Aug 8.
All those who worked in the restaurant have been placed on quarantine and will be tested during this period.
MOH will also extend free Covid-19 testing to people who had visited the restaurant between July 19 and July 23.
All visitors to the Dempsey area are also advised to monitor their health closely, and minimise social interactions as far as possible, for 14 days from their date of visit or interaction, MOH said.

They are encouraged to see a doctor immediately if they feel unwell. The other new active cluster is linked to an individual case, and that cluster has four cases linked to it.
There are currently 26 active clusters, ranging between three and 741 infections.
There is continuing evidence that vaccination helps to prevent serious disease if one is infected.
Over the last 28 days, 11 local cases required oxygen supplementation, were admitted to the intensive care unit or died.
Of these, six were unvaccinated, five were partially vaccinated, and none was fully vaccinated.
A total of 130 cases of infection were reported on Saturday, including 127 locally transmitted cases.
Seventy-five cases were connected to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster, which has swelled to 741 cases.
The number of new cases in the community has increased from 238 cases in the week before to 1,027 cases in the past week.
The number of unlinked cases has also increased from 17 cases in the week before to 120 cases in the past week.
Singapore's vaccination programme has been making good progress, with a total of 7,060,589, doses administered.
More than 50 per cent of the population have received both doses of the vaccine.
In addition, 81,227 doses of Sinovac vaccine were administered as of Friday, covering 67,373 individuals.

That's why you know it is pure politics (or financial gain), and nothing to do with health.

Even social media and big tech is proactively censoring any debate regarding the vaccines.

After one month, the cause of death is still being investigated.

SINGAPORE - The 16-year-old boy who suffered cardiac arrest after taking his Covid-19 vaccine has been transferred out of the intensive care unit and his medical condition remains stable, said the Ministry of Health on Thursday (July 15).
MOH told The Straits Times that the patient has been transferred to a high dependency ward in the coronary care unit for close monitoring and observation.
On July 5, MOH said that the boy collapsed following a weightlifting session six days after his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty Covid-19 vaccine.
"We are still investigating the underlying cause. Our priority is the well-being of the patient, and he is under the close medical care of an excellent team in the National University Hospital," said MOH on Thursday.
"Our hopes and well wishes are with him and his family for a steady recovery," it added.
MOH reiterated that the death of a 16-year-old boy whose obituary had gone viral was not vaccine-related, and that the boy had not received any doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

"We urge the public not to spread unsubstantiated information which may add to the family's grief or cause public alarm," it added.
In Facebook post on Wednesday, MOH said that it was aware of the "speculation in Facebook, Telegram and WhatsApp chat groups" featuring an obituary that led to the conjecture that the teenager had died from a "vaccine-related severe adverse event".
It clarified that the boy's death was not due to the vaccine, and that the two cases were unrelated.

While investigation for the above case is taking more than one month, the government was very prompt to come to the conclusion that the death of another schoolboy was not linked to covid-19.

SINGAPORE - The recent death of a 16-year-old boy is not linked to vaccination, the Ministry of Health (MOH) clarified in a Facebook post on Wednesday (July 14).
It added that it was aware of "speculation in Facebook, Telegram and WhatsApp chat groups" featuring an obituary that led to the conjecture that the teenager had died from a "vaccine-related severe adverse event".
That is why there is a need to clarify that the boy's demise referenced in these posts and messages is not vaccine-related, MOH added.
"We urge the public not to spread unsubstantiated information which may add to the family's grief or cause public alarm unnecessarily," MOH said in its Facebook post.
The Straits Times understands that the recent death is unrelated to the 16-year-old boy who suffered cardiac arrest after a strenuous session of weightlifting, with the Covid-19 vaccine being a possible factor.
The Health Ministry had said the boy collapsed following a weightlifting session six days after his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty Covid-19 vaccine.

Associate Professor Kenneth Mak said on July 7 that the boy had lifted a weight that was almost twice his body weight, and that he had also been taking some supplements.
He has been in critical condition in the intensive care unit at the National University Hospital. No updates have been shared on the case so far, as investigations are still ongoing.
While the two cases are not related, word that a 16-year-old had died has sparked much interest among the public, amid concerns of myocarditis among young people who have taken their Covid-19 jabs.
42 new local Covid-19 cases; PCF Sparkletots centre close for disinfection | THE BIG STORY

Myocarditis - which refers to the inflammation of the heart - and pericarditis - which refers to the inflammation of the outer lining of the heart, have been observed in 12 people so far.
Five of the cases occurred in adults aged 30 and above, two of whom are women. The other seven cases involved men aged below 30.
The expert committee on Covid-19 vaccination has recommended that people avoid strenuous physical activity for at least a week after receiving either of their mRNA Covid-19 vaccine doses as a precautionary measure.

Old ones who has no idea to take care of their health in the younger days will die of any crap including the covid crap. But the news make it that it is the covid that kill her and nothing else would.

U need above average IQ to see through that. And if u check, young and old die from vaccines. Those who are alive might has the potential to have autoimmune disease later on.

SINGAPORE - A 79-year-old Singaporean man died from complications due to Covid-19 on Wednesday (Aug 4).
He went to Sengkang General Hospital earlier that day with shortness of breath and low blood pressure, and tested positive for the virus.
He had not been vaccinated and had a history of heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and hypertension, said the Ministry of Health in an update on Thursday.
This is Singapore's third death from the virus in four days, bringing the total to 40.
On Monday, a 58-year-old woman, also unvaccinated, died from the virus. On Sunday, a 34-year-old Ukrainian crewman who arrived in Singapore on board a vessel on July 28 died from Covid-19 complications.
MOH on Thursday said there were 10 new clusters, and a total of 122 that are still active.

Twelve more cases have been added to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster, bringing its case total to 1,127. It is the largest open cluster in Singapore, so far.
There were 96 new locally transmitted coronavirus cases reported on Thursday.
Of these, 38 were linked to previous cases and were already quarantined, while another 20 linked cases were not in quarantine when detected.
The remaining 38 were new unlinked cases, up from 30 on Wednesday.

Two of the locally transmitted cases are seniors above 70 who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and at risk of serious illness.
There were also two imported cases that had been placed on stay-home notice (SHN) or isolated on arrival in Singapore, said MOH.
One was detected on arrival in Singapore, while the other tested positive for the virus during SHN or isolation.
This makes a total of 98 new Covid-19 cases, bringing Singapore’s tally to 65,508.

MOH said there are 577 hospitalised cases, up from 555 on Wednesday.
Of these, 40 are serious cases requiring oxygen supplementation while eight are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
Seven of these patients are fully vaccinated.
Thirty-six seniors above the age of 60 are seriously ill, 31 of whom are completely or partially unvaccinated.

MOH also said the number of new cases in the community has fallen from 881 in the week before to 723 in the past week, while the number of unlinked cases has increased from 223 to 228 in the same period.
It added that 65 per cent of Singapore’s population is fully vaccinated while 78 per cent has received at least one dose.

Why is it that most of those who die of Covid are either fucking old, or already riddled with chronic conditions?

It would be more truthful to say they died of old age, or of pre-existing conditions.

Truth be told, some of them look like they would have dropped dead any minute, whether or not there was a pandemic.

Man's 'huge regret' after elderly parents get Covid-19

Even though they were eligible, Mr Teo Kee Huat's elderly parents decided to put off their Covid-19 vaccinations earlier this year.

His mother had pre-existing medical conditions and insisted that she wanted to clear all her doctor's appointments first.

His father wanted to wait so they could get vaccinated together.

On June 1, Mr Teo's worst fears came true: His father, who is in his early 80s, tested positive for Covid-19 and was admitted to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).

Five days later, still reeling from the news, he received another shock: His mother, who is in her late 70s, tested positive and was also admitted to NCID.

Mr Teo, who works in engineering and is in his 40s, told The New Paper yesterday: "At first I was worried about my dad, and then the big shocker was that my mum also tested positive. It was a worse feeling because my mum is not as healthy as my dad.

"I never expected both of them to suddenly contract Covid-19 at the same time."

Mr Teo and his two brothers were placed in quarantine as they had visited their parents that week. Their test results came back negative.

Mr Teo's father was moved to the intensive care unit (ICU) a week after admission.

Said Mr Teo: "My dad's condition fluctuated a lot. He had high fever and his oxygen levels would just drop at times."

His mother also moved to ICU a week after her admission after her oxygen levels "suddenly took a plunge".

"The fear I had was very real, especially when I received calls in the middle of the night from doctors telling me that my mum was not doing well," he added.

At one point, both his parents needed ventilators to help them breathe. Mr Teo could only stand outside the ICU wards and on helplessly through a screen.

"All I could do was talk to my dad on the phone. And my mum looked so frail. I remember having this huge sense of regret and kept thinking I should have insisted they get vaccinated early. If I had, this wouldn't be happening."

Things took a turn for the better. By mid-June, his father's condition improved and he was moved to a general ward.

The same happened to his mother in end-July and she was moved to a general ward.

The seniors have since recovered from Covid-19 but are still hospitalised in the general ward at Tan Tock Seng Hospital because of other medical reasons, which Mr Teo declined to reveal.

He said: "It can be traumatic to see your loved ones going through something like this. All I can say is that people should not take Covid-19 lightly.

CONVINCE

"Children should try to convince their elderly parents to get vaccinated. The pain they may go through if they contract Covid-19 is not worth it."

In its daily update yesterday, the Ministry of Health said 36 seniors aged above 60, of whom 31 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, are currently very ill.

It added that on Wednesday, a 79-year-old man died from complications from the virus. He had not been vaccinated and had a history of heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and hypertension.

On Monday, a woman, 58, who had not been vaccinated and had no underlying medical conditions, died of complications from Covid-19.

The ministry said 65 per cent of the population had been fully vaccinated as at Wednesday, and 78 per cent had received at least one dose of a vaccine.

Health Minister Ong Ye Kung said in a ministerial statement on July 26 that the population's vaccination rate is going up by about one percentage point a day.

"By National Day, almost 70 per cent will have received two doses. By early-September, it should be almost 80 per cent.

"Our main worry is that our seniors, especially those 70 and above, are not sufficiently vaccinated. (As at July 26), just over 70 per cent of them have received two doses of the vaccines," added Mr Ong.

Professor Teo Yik Ying, dean of the National University of Singapore's Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, told TNP it is especially important for the elderly to get vaccinated as the risk of infection, as well as the risk of serious illness when infected, rises with age.

"For the elderly, vaccination translates starkly to saving lives," he said.
