Iceland became the smallest nation to qualify for the finals of the European Championship thanks to a point from a goalless draw with Kazakhstan.

The Nordic island nation boasts an estimated population of around 329,100 people, and 23 of their number will be selected to compete at Euro 2016 in France next summer.

Six wins from their previous seven games proved to be a solid foundation and a further Group A point, secured against Kazakhstan in Reykjavik, got Iceland over the line.

Meanwhile, Wales must wait to join the party at Euro 2016 next summer.

When I listen to Radio talkshow by many coaches and sport journalists, many times they mentioned about insufficient funds.
Pappies provide them with little funds.
They said they need lots of money to open football Academy, maintain good football players, etc.
Someone evn said we do not have enough football fields for kids to play.
Most elite schools do not have football field, but rugby field, tennis courts, badminton courts and swimming pools.
It shows that our infrastructure lacks of fund and big shots are not supporting football.

Because of the pappies meddling, strange things happen e.g. table tennis, at best a fringe pastime, is accorded status as the de facto national sport, with media coverage and funding.

It's like how they carve up the electoral boundaries, causing a confusion of identity to people who have lived at a location for a long time.
