according to straits times, a singaporean male , 35+, o-level, worked as salon barber, failed his business, so he faked certificates of a degree and phd from florida usa university, and he got hr director job in 3 companies for 2 years, drawing $9000 to $10000 per month at those 3 companies ... only after in the 3rd company, he was exposed and jailed,

1) just dont understand, why a singapore salon barber with no cert in hr, can just apply and got a hr dept director job in 3 local companies, including listed company, without being exposed ?

2) and for those singaporean one-eye-lizard here, who keep flaming and criticize foreigners working in singapore for faked certs and degree w/o any basis or proof, this is a case for they need to ask themselves if they are tuasoyliap ...

Many singapore employers/hr managers are unqualifed unprofessional incompetent nasty bastards.

For every unqualified employee employed, the HR officer in-charge of the application should be removed.

HR is the most unnecessary cost centre. Most of the time, recruitment is outsourced and HR only play computer game and plan for night parties. They are the skivers of the company and ought to be shot.

But they act as if they decides your future.

The future is to actually outsource the entire department. Only key general admin who will control personnel information even better through security level controlled data access. This is the future. The other 2 departments scheduled to go are marketing and PR.

Faking a resume is unethical but not a crime. Why should he be jailed? There have been a few Fortune 100 companies CEO who faked their resume. They quit after being found out. That's all.

Worst when your HR manager is the sister of your big boss...

If not, 'bedminton' partner of the boss, like law la & "mangoes"...no transparency, the only thinks transparent is what she wears at night!!

1 possible reason is while he was a barber, most of his client are HR char bor, over the years he gained suffice knowledge on HR trade :D

Can ask him on your last day.

Btw, there's also a reason why he's director of HR, and not Finance, Sales, Logistics, Manufacturing or a General or Managing Director. Can also ask him if he knows the reason. But on your last day.
