An SBS service 43 bus is believed to have skidded and crashed into a road sign and a tree along Yio Chu Kang Road near Serangoon North Avenue 1.

The accident, which happened yesterday after midnight, injured five people.

Passer-by Mr Francis Ng, who had approached the bus after the crash, was shocked to see the driver sitting in a daze, looking "like her eyes were bleeding".

More in The New Paper on Thursday (Aug 4).
