Thats true, that is part of the history, over 50 years. But do you think the extras acting as Jap soldiers are all Japanese? C'mmon... watch a few episode then you will understand what I meant. The show always portrays the Americans are the heroes and the good guys, fuck them.

I'll let you know. Hawaii is mainly Japanese descendants. The New Hawaii Five 0 have all Koreans playing Japanese.

People who enjoy watching the slaughtering of human beings in war are no better than those watching kiddie porn. I watch movies to try to understand the whys and drown in my own sorrow at the waste of lives of good men who should fight to bring down regimes like the PAP government.

The Japs were famous for their Banzai charges.

It may have worked against poorly equipped armies but the american had the browning machine guns & the fast loading M1 Garand.

Comparing the two, Band of Brother vs The Pacific, I liked BoB better.
This is because in "The Pacific" there were too many characters to keep track of. With so many characters the show failed to develop & reveal the various characters.

it might be based on a true story in guadalcanal where battalions of japs charged a heavily defended u.s. marine position at night and were mowed down by machine guns throughout the night and early morning. it was slaughter. next morning, marines saw mounds of dead bodies in front of their gun positions. i believe it was the defense of henderson airfield.

That is because the movie was produced through 2 eyewitness accounts as the islands are taken back one by one. I find researching into it a lot more rewarding. Go read Helmet for My Pillow and With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa, and also the US marine archives.

The uncensored series has some naked romp while R&R in Melbourne. The later part of thee series was perhaps over dramatized to score audience points. The Japs never allowed themselves to be captured and would rather be slaughtered in a turkey shoot. Don't feel sorry for the nips. They are out to enslave asians through unimaginable cruelty and horrors. The Scourge of the Swatika and Knights of Bushido by Lord Russell of Liverpool chronicles all that.

Yamato's last mission was a pitiful struggle to defend Japan. When the Yankees got them, I cheered ! The VCD image quality was not so good but the sound was great with bass ON.

The Japanese still feel a spiritual attachment to the the Yamato. It's the Yamato and not the sister ship Musashi sunk earlier off the Philippines. Below is just one of the many mammoth scale replicas found in Japanese museums.
