er... 20 dollars? :D

for bro who like to collect old notes, it paid to be friendly with the bank tellers as can ask them to keep the old notes for you as occassionally there some uninformed aunties bring the money they hide in a biscuit tin under their bed to the bank to deposit.

and bro with old notes at home, pls keep them under keep and lock as i ever see maids use the orchid series money to buy from minimart. lucky for me, the cashier is a auntie so i manage to change the $5 & $1 from the till. What a pity if the bank return the old notes to MAS to destroy.

"On 27th June 2007, when His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam exchanged the currency note of Brunei with His Excellency Mr Lee Hsien Loong, the Prime Minister of Singapore, the currency note of Singapore - that occassion marked the 40th anniversary of the currency interchangeability agreement between Brunei and Singapore. For 40 years now, citizens of the two countries are able to use each other's currency in both countries. No other countries in the world has such an agreement."

Uncle has a few of these. What are they worthe?

Why few or no Brunei notes circulating:confused: in Singapore? People immediately use them if given change.

There is a $2 note with the word " commissioner" spelt wrongly...

It is spelt with a double " ii " and i think there are less than 1000 pcs around cos it is
enclosed in a commemorative booklet..

This is one of the few collectors items in our Singapore collection.

The coin dealer pay $600 for my book..i got 5..

One collector paid me $800 for the book.It was only $70 when issued in 1992..and many of my colleagues said it was expensive and they sold to me then...

You are right about the face value being the largest in the world and also right about putting down your IC number whether you ask for on or deposit one in the bank.

It is a very convenient piece of paper if you need to smuggle money. Obviously such a big note is intended for this purpose as Singapore is in CIA's money laundering list. For businessmen like you need to bring in excess of the limit out of or into a country it is so convenient. As for the bank taking down your IC number now sweat they will not check if you get the note not by illegal means and you can explain, as its just for reference.

If you have a note like this you can get a good exchange rate overseas as they are always eying on this because they could sell at a better rate for those who really need it.
'

One Korean was stoppe3d at the Changi airport with $6 million cash in his brief-case..
Singapore is facilitating these couriers to move large sums across borders by issueing these big denominations of $1000 n $10,000 notes.

CIA should rightfully blacklist our Singapore govt for not being forthright....
Sometimes i think they are a double-headed snake..say one thing do another,...
