Victoria's fifth lockdown of the pandemic extended by seven days as Delta outbreak grows

Residents from eight south-west postcodes are isolating after being identified as primary close contacts of coronavirus cases.
They include 3280 (Warrnambool), 3282 (Koroit), 3265 (Terang district), 3260 (Camperdown), 3250 (Colac), 3301 (Hamilton district), 3289 (Penshurst) and 3300 (Hamilton). It is not known how many south-west residents are in isolation, or which sites they were exposed to.
It comes as the state government extended Victoria's lockdown by seven days and health authorities scramble to contain the highly contagious Delta variant from spreading to regional areas.
13 new cases were recorded across the state, taking the total active cases to 85. Nine of the new cases were isolating for the entirety of their infectious period.
About a third of the state's primary close contacts are located in regional Victoria, largely linked to the Mildura outbreak.
Lockdown is set to end at midnight on Tuesday, July 27.
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said the state had "made good progress" but had a "long way to go".
"So far, the strategy is unfolding exactly the way that we would like it to unfold, but we have had a couple of super-spreader events," he said.
"Whether they are technically termed that but we've had a couple of transmission events where large numbers of people have finished up positive as a result of being in the proximity, being close to others for a very short period of time.
"Some of those stranger-to-stranger issues that the speed with which this has moved through the Victorian community confirms that we did the right thing to lockdown and it sadly confirmed that we need more time."

This means the five essential reasons to leave home will remain in place state-wide, including shopping for essentials, exercise, medical reasons or care-giving, authorised work or education and to get vaccinated.
Victorians must also stay within five kilometres of their homes.
Masks remain mandatory indoors and outdoors.
Changes to permits mean there will be no further red-zone travel for the next two weeks, though there will be exemptions on compassionate grounds.
Mr Andrews is expected to make an announcement on payments to businesses tomorrow.
Restrictions are likely to remain until the majority of positive coronavirus cases have isolated for their infectious period.
It comes as 13 new cases were recorded across the state - four were announced yesterday - taking the total active cases to 85. Nine of the new cases were isolating for the entirety of their infectious period.
About 18,000 Victorians are at home isolating.
Mr Andrews previously flagged regional Victoria's early exit from lockdown in his announcement on Wednesday.
But with almost a third of the state's primary close contacts being in regional Victoria, largely linked to the Mildura outbreak, this is unlikely to occur.

I would be agreeing with you except for one crucial point: We should allow the virus to become endemic ONLY when sufficient numbers have been vaccinated with good vaccines.
Otherwise, we will simply be allowing swathes of people to become very ill, and unnecessarily too. With vaccination - and ONLY with vaccination, can the disease be relegated to just an ordinary flu and allowed to become endemic with the population no worse for the wear.

We will have to agree to disagree on this point. Vaccines play an important part for viruses that do not mutate eg smallpox, measles etc. However for viruses that are constantly mutating the role of vaccines in preventing infection is far lower and natural herd immunity, in my opinion, is far superior.
The reason why hardly anyone dies from the traditional corona viruses that have been around for a long time is thanks to the immune system not a vaccine. Many of what are considered to be "head colds" are caused by one of the following :
- 229E (alpha coronavirus)
- NL63 (alpha coronavirus)
- OC43 (beta coronavirus)
- HKU1 (beta coronavirus)
In order to predict what will happen in the future sometimes it helps to look back in history.

If natural immunity is far superior for virus are mutating, then it is also far far superior for those that are not mutating at all. there is no need for a vaccine. Humans are manipulated to get the vaccine to lower their frequency so they will always get sick in future. So big pharma and hospital will always have business.

I don't agree with that. Traditional vaccines were based upon the principle of actually infecting someone with a virus that was less lethal but so similar as to actually mimic infection.
EG It was noticed that milkmaids that caught cowpox did not get smallpox but cowpox was not nearly as devastating as smallpox.
Vaccines nowadays are far more advanced and are using technology where the long term effects are unknown.

That is the mainstream belief. That is being mainstreamed taught even in school. I learned that when i was a teenager too. However, blessed me, it comes to my attention that vaccination "shows result" is at a time when sanitation is improving. Sanitation improvement means more hygiene and less pollution. It also does not take into account that those small pox and measles are man-made as well. Of course mainstream info didn't say that is man-made.
Sanitation improvement or vaccination is the real cure at that time? Big pharma really take that opportunity to claim that vaccination works.

Big Pharma was not involved in the pioneering vaccine efforts. The research was done by exceptional individuals, often putting their own lives at risk. Their work saved millions from death and suffering. I am a staunch supporter of LAV vaccines and the principles upon which they are developed. However I am suspicious of vaccines that are making companies billions and need liability wavers in order to be administered.

You do not know these individuals are being bought and the history (info that is taught in school and books) of such individuals are being changed to fit their narrative. Cabal influenced on humanity dated back since ancient times.
