I need help - which pickup?

Ok just called Toyota salesman all new Hilux Vigo to launch in October next year.

Whenever you see a facelift on an existing model, it means an all new model is less than 18 months away.

Never thought about getting a car in LOS. With the current problems it may be necessary to get a pickup.

Is the cost of diesel cheaper than gasoline in LOS:confused: What is the ball park figure of getting a Toyota pickup:confused:

Range of Toyota Vigo pickups is wide. Points to consider:

2 door or 4 door (standard, extra, double cab)
2.5 cc/3.0 cc or others
4WD/2WD
automatic/manual transmission

Price wise, you can get an entry level at THB 480K to top of the range, everything in at slightly less than a million THB.

Diesel price is currently around THB 29. Benzine 91 is THB 34.5 and Gasohol 95 is THB 33.

Thanks Chonburifc. Talking about changing of logo it seems like we see more and more Lexus pickup trucks, Lexus pessenger vans, Lexus Fortuners, Lexus Altis, Lexus Camrys, Lexus mini-buses etc on Hai roads now a days. Last month I even spotted a Lexus rubbish collection truck in my next soi. Amazing Lexus now even have rubbish vehicle. What will the Thais think of next. I wish to inform you that now you own a hybrid, when you go Central Pattaya and even Central World in Bangkok for shopping there are reserved parking lots for all Toyota hybrids. Congratulation, you are a member now.

Yesterday had a little free time and passing by Mitsubishi and Isuzu was told that earliest delivery of new orders now is January but still cannot promise. Is is due to the current flood affecting parts manufacturers in Ayudthaya. Saw the latest Isuzu D-Max V-Cross in the show room must say that I am very impressed and attracted to it. Comes with brown leather seats, steering wheel control for audio, back camera, surround sound, nice compartment and best of all it's a all new model not a facelift. Problem is this model costs 980k which I think it's a little expensive for a pickup truck. Anyway delivery is next year so I will not have a need then and will wait for later partnof next year maybe and hopefully be then Hilux may come up with a new model. Current Vigo is so so old. Wah-lan-eh almost kenna big time gong-tau yesterday. Hang ah.
Previously was driving a VIGO 4 door for 2 years before switching to Isuzu 2 door as I needed the additional space at the back and also wanted to try out Isuzu. Apperance wise, Toyota looks more 'family'. I have no problem with these 2 pickups.

Another point to note about pickups in LOS. Cannot park near the entrance of hotels and clubs. Staff will politely ask you to park at one corner.:(

Gah-bak = Banook = Lo-so

That's the land cruiser 70 series... the toughest Toyota of all. There is no auto gearbox option. It's strictly manual only.

Hi Sam, look what I found today at the roadside? An old Land Cruiser parked at the roadside on the main Ramintra Road a guy selling wood oars for rowing boats. His truck is full of oars. I stopped and took the picture.

This is the proud owner, the oar seller. He told me many people stopped and took photos of his truck and asked him to sell the truck instead of oars. He told me the truck's with him for more than 10 years and he will never sell it. He also told me that other than regular maintenance this truck has no problem at all.

Talking about pickups.

For durian lovers in LOS, you can drive to Chantaburi and load 7-8 big baskets of durians on the pickup. You can eat for all you can or you can also park along the streets and sell the durians. There is no "Bao Jia" in LOS so buy and sell as it is. Only additional thing needed is the weighing scale.

It'll easily last him another 10 years. Like I said if you want trouble free motoring, Toyota is the way to go. No other brand comes close.

Sam, is this also the 70 series you mentioned?

Yup that's the one.

I really cannot tahan how a boat oar seller end up with a cool ride like this. I'm gonna find out from grey market importers if they could bring one of this 70 series (new car) into Bangkok and how much its gonna cost.

Mitsubishi triton.

Hi palden. Don't seem to like the Triton because looks like an ant. Guess its the cab design looking like an ant's head. Many of mynthai friends think so too. Due to flood we get to see more pickup trucks on the road. 4 days ago I saw a fully soop-up matt-black Triton that looks like something from a Dakar Race. Very impressive.
