I bought this can of Stewed Pork for dinner last night to eat with rice. My GF says I am a cheapskate ???

One thing I don't understand about Chinese words is that they use the phrase 红烧. In English, it says stewed.

What does 红烧 means? It gives me an impression that it is cooked under very fiery temperature or BBQ style. Maybe my Chinese sucks. That's why I can never understand these funny Chinese words.

$4.95 at NTUC. I think it's too expensive. That's why I will buy the other brand next time.
KNN my uncle think it is too expensive and unhealthy if you eat the whole can for 1 meal KNN should either split for 2 meals or share with another pax KNN

Gulong is it? Try microwaving it with plenty of pepper and some good quality soya sauce. Do not skim away the lard. Have it with fragrance rice. I'll bet you can have at least three full serving of rice.
