Husbands wants to keep affair secret; now 200,000 people know
This is an ongoing drama on Threads in Japan. A Japanese wife found out that her husband was planning to take his affair partner on a 4-day weekend to Taiwan. He told her that he was going on a business trip to Ehime, a rural prefecture in Japan. So she took his passport and hid it at her parents house.
He spent ages looking for his 'important business document' but wouldn't let her help him look for it. In the meantime, his cellphone keeps going off, probably his affair partner.
Eventually he left to go to his affair partner's apartment. The wife knows this because she put her old cellphone inside his luggage and is tracking it.
She posted this on Threads, and her follower count leapt from 60 to almost 200,000. People are following this drama from all over the world. People in Ehime suggested that she ask her husband to bring back a souvenir (a common expectation when someone goes on a trip) from Ehime, and are giving suggestions of specific Ehime-based products.
In Japan, the wronged partner can sue the affair partner for breaking a marriage. She is gathering evidence so she hasn't confronted him yet.
