南方澳跨港大橋斷裂，畫面十分驚悚。交通部已成立災害應變中心通知相關部會進駐，由交通部次長祁文中、主任秘書陳進生主持，交通部長林佳龍指示全力配合政院災防辦運作，即時通報資訊，協助救災。
交通部表示，港務公司蘇澳管營運處已在現場成立緊急應變小組，已有縣府、消防、港警、航港局、海巡人員進駐。林佳龍臨時向立法院請假，趕往現場協助救災。
由於該橋外接台2戊線，交通部公路總局已提供LED車、交維設施供現場使用，交通部表示，經查台9線、台9丁線、台2戊線等皆車流順暢可供傷患後送使用，後續將持續配合搶救災事宜，公路總局整理相關救援路線交管疏導訊息，並至現場協助交管事宜。
交通部表示，跨港大橋當年由基隆港務局委託宜蘭縣府代建，87年通車，現屬航港局財產，由港務公司維管。87完工移交港務局後，每年檢修，蘇澳鎮公所曾受中央政府補助做重要橋樑結構安全檢測。
交通部表示，目前初步了解，為大橋海側橋墩坍塌，導致橋體向下掉落斷裂。事發原因尚待釐清。另外，氣象局回報，今日凌晨1時54分發生芮氏規模3.8地震，宜蘭縣南澳最大震度4級，但尚難確認與斷橋有關。

A popular 140-metre-long tourist bridge has collapsed into a harbour in the north-east town of Yilan in Taiwan, crushing several fishing boats, and authorities fear there could be a number of casualties.
"[Nanfangao bridge] collapsed around 9:30am while an oil tanker vehicle was on it, setting the vehicle on fire," Town Mayor Shih I-chun said.
The weather at the time was sunny, but the collapse occurred hours after a typhoon swept by the island.
Disaster relief officials would not say if the storm had weakened the bridge or give other details on the potential cause.
The centre of Typhoon Mitag passed east of Taiwan on Monday night and early Tuesday (local time), but the outer winds gusting up to 137 kilometres per hour affected the island before the storm moved to the north-east.

The storm injured 12 people, felled trees, damaged vehicles and caused power outages around the island.
At least 10 people have been taken to hospital, six with serious injuries, following the bridge collapse on Tuesday.
Divers plunged into the waters to search for those feared trapped in at least two fishing boats, two government officials from the port township of Suao told Reuters.
At least nine people fell in the water and seven were rescued, Taiwan's Central News Agency said.

宜蘭縣南方澳跨港大橋昨天斷裂坍塌，一輛經過的油罐車墜落，3艘漁船遭斷橋壓毀，行政院公共工程委員會主委吳澤成今天上午在立法院接受訪問時說，在責任釐清的部分，交通部也已成立相關調查小組，運安會也已經立案調查，依法依權責進行蒐證中。今晚卻傳出交通部經專案小組查明，發現航港局和港務公司過去21年都沒主動對南方澳大橋進行檢測，等於1998年完工後沒再去檢測。交通部長林佳龍今晚受訪表示，檢測頻率本該2年或4年一次，此次確實屬於檢修缺失，造成橋梁不安全就要負責。

東森新聞今天也獨家曝光，健行科技大學105年針對跨港大橋的檢測報告，可以看到許多檢測項目，卻獨獨少了「鋼索檢測」這一項。對此健行科大表示，委託項目中並未包含「鏽蝕檢測」。而港務局編列的1千萬預算裡，大部分都被使用到亮點工程，像是修路燈和填道路，反而報告中指出的橋墩、大梁除鏽等安全性問題，卻沒有第一時間來解決。

台灣四面環海，但一位年邁船長說，「台灣傳統漁村早就消失了」，討海生活太苦了，討海人是用命跟老天爺在拚，第二、三代的台灣年輕人都陸續離開漁村，現在遠洋漁業號稱「八國聯軍」，在岸邊補漁網、修船具大多是外籍漁工。

宜蘭南方澳漁港是全台三大港之一，設籍漁船約七、八百艘，大大小小船隻都有，停泊港邊的船上，經常可看到外籍漁工在船上活動，船尾晾著整排衣服，有如萬國旗。這裡，是他們的「家」。
外籍漁工以船為家，有些船隻設備簡陋，缺乏衛浴設備，只能在甲板上沖澡，有的船沒熱水，冬天寒風刺骨，洗澡宛如一種酷刑。
蘇澳區漁會總幹事陳春生說，船隻設施有好有壞，主要是看船主心態，也有的船上有冷氣、卡拉OK等設備，不能一概而論。
高雄漁民服務中心指出，高雄地區外籍漁工的生活環境已改善許多。漁民服務中心理事長陳武彰表示，高雄外籍漁工約二萬三千人，隨船入港時多半短暫停留一、二周，期間只能住船上，不能上陸，但目前遠洋漁船不乏新造船隻，漁工生活環境已較過去改善許多。
船居、陸居皆可 極少漁工申請陸居
高雄海員中心一名社工表示，漁船作業會依淡旺季進出台灣不同港口，今天在南方澳、過幾天可能就到東港，船東很難在固定地方安排宿舍，因此外籍漁工住宿雖有「船居」和「陸居」兩方案，卻極少人會申請陸居。
宜蘭縣漁工職業工會秘書長李麗華說，漁工自由不受限，其實可以上岸賃屋而居，但房租需要自行負擔，對月薪不到兩萬元的漁工是一大負擔；就算漁工有意合租，付一點錢換好一些的生活品質，但她曾聽過有船長怕船沒人顧，以「開除」來威脅，漁工最後只能以船為家。
