The wife of a sales representative was fined in May for stabbing him while he was in hospital for treatment, after acid had been splashed on his private parts over an alleged extra-marital affair.
On Thursday, it was the husband, Lim Peng Kiang, 41, who was punished in court over another incident. He was fined $2,000 for committing mischief.
Lim, who pleaded guilty to smashing two cellphones and an iPod Touch belonging to his wife Quek Chin Fern, was also ordered to pay her compensation of $850.
Quek, 38 and unemployed, was texting friends at 1am on April 14. This made Lim angry and he grabbed and smashed the devices on the floor of their Punggol flat.
Pleading for a lenient sentence, his lawyer Amarjit Singh said it was a family dispute and arose from a tiff between the couple.
