消息由乌军总参谋部12月15日在脸书上发布，乌克兰总参这样写道：

“2018年12月15日15时左右，一架执行例行飞行任务的苏-27飞机在日托米尔州着陆时坠毁，飞行员丧生。有关情况和坠机原因正在调查中。”​

坠毁的苏-27战斗机隶属于乌克兰中部空军司令部第831团，该团是乌克兰空军仅存的苏-27单位。目前乌克兰空军拥有21架米格-29和16架苏-27战斗机，在14年的克里米亚危机中，乌克兰空军45架米格-29战斗机被俄罗斯军队控制。

When the situation was tense, a Ukrainian Su-27 fighter plane crashed unexpectedly when it landed. According to the Russian satellite news agency on December 15, the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff said that a Su-27 fighter jet of the Ukrainian Air Force crashed when landing in Zhitomir, and the pilot lost his life.

The news was published by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army on Facebook on December 15th. The Ukrainian General Staff wrote:

"At about 15:00 on December 15, 2018, a Su-27 aircraft carrying out a routine flight crashed while landing in Zhitomir, and the pilot was killed. The situation and the cause of the crash are under investigation."

The crashed Su-27 fighter was part of the 831th regiment of the Ukrainian Central Air Force Command, the only Su-27 unit of the Ukrainian Air Force. At present, the Ukrainian Air Force has 21 MiG-29 and 16 Su-27 fighters. In the 14-year Crimean crisis, the Ukrainian Air Force 45 MiG-29 fighters were controlled by the Russian army.

This is the second fatal accident of the Ukrainian Air Force Su-27 aircraft this year. In October, a Ukrainian Su-27UB two-seat fighter crashed during the Ukrainian “Clear Sky-2018” exercise, which killed an American pilot and a Ukrainian pilot.

KIEV (Reuters) - A U.S. pilot was among two crew who died when a Ukrainian Su-27 air force fighter crashed during a training flight on Tuesday, the U.S. military said.

“We have seen reports claiming a U.S. casualty and can confirm a U.S. service member was involved in this incident,” it said in a statement, adding that the circumstances of the crash were under investigation.

The two pilots, the other of whom was Ukrainian, were the only people on board.
The Ukrainian general staff earlier said the pilot and co-pilot died, without giving their nationalities.
The crash took place during Clear Sky 2018, multinational air drills involving military personnel from eight foreign countries also including Britain, the Netherlands, Poland and Estonia that started last week.

The pilot of a United States Air National Guard was killed Tuesday when the Ukranian Su-27UB fighter jet crashed in west-central Ukraine field, according to Ukrainian General Staff reports.
A Ukrainian Su-27UB twin-seat combat trainer / fighter jet with two pilots crashed during a training exercise on Tuesday.
The accident occurred at around 5:00 PM local time on Oct. 16, 2018, near the village of Ulaniv, which is situated approximately 185 miles southwest of the Ukranian capital Kyiv.



Also reported that both the pilot and co-pilot have been killed after a Su-27UB (70 Blue) fighter jet crashed during a Clear Sky 18 training flight in west-central Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the bodies of two pilots were found: one was a pilot of the Ukrainian Air Forces, the second – a US Air Force National Guard pilot.
“We regret to inform that according to the rescue team, the bodies of two pilots have been discovered: one is a serviceman of the Ukrainian Air Force, the other is a member of the US National Guard,” it said.
U.S. Air Force public affairs officer said: “We are aware of a Ukrainian Su-27UB fighter aircraft that crashed in the Vinnytsia region at approximately 5pm local time during Clear Sky 2018 today.”
“We have also seen the reports claiming a U.S. casualty and are currently investigating and working to get more information. We will provide more information as soon as it becomes available.”
Later, U.S. Air Forces in Europe (USAFE)has confirmedthat a U.S. service member was involved in the incident, but has no made an official announcement as to their status. USAFE also said that mishap is already under investigation.
The Su-27UB jet was taking part in Clear Sky 2018, a joint military exercise with NATO members taking place October 8 through 19 in Western Ukraine.
Clear Sky 2018 is a joint and multinational exercise that involving approximately 950 personnel from nine nations, including Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The Clear Sky 18’s training is intended to increase the level of interoperability of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the Air Forces of the US and NATO, work out effective joint management of operations in the air, work out the sharing of intelligence and surveillance capabilities, as well as cyberdefense focused on the needs of the air forces.

An American serviceman has been killed in a Su-27 fighter jet crash in Ukraine, Kiev’s military prosecutor has confirmed. The jet was taking part in a military exercise with NATO.
The Su-27 crashed during a simulated combat flight. The Ukrainian General Staff initially issued a statement on Facebook that mentioned the citizenships of the two pilots.
“We regret to inform that according to the rescue team, the bodies of two pilots have been discovered: one is a serviceman of the Ukrainian Air Force, the other is a member of the US National Guard,” it said.

Kiev has been reticent about the crash, sharing almost no details of the incident, in an apparent effort to avoid an international scandal. When the Ukrainian General Staff finally got the courage to issue a statement, it was quick to take it offline after indicating that both a Ukrainian pilot and an American pilot were on board the jet. The same message was first published and then deleted by the military prosecutor of Ukraine.
The US Air Force, which confirmed their service member was “involved” in the incident, is now investigating the crash. “We understand there was an American in the backseat of the aircraft,” US Air Forces Europe-Africa said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian police warned that the crashed fighter jet may have munitions on board that could still detonate, a local UNN news agency reported. “It is a military aircraft. There could have been munitions on board that could detonate,” a police representative told the UNN, explaining why police officers had to cordon off the crash site and ban journalists from approaching the area.
An eyewitness to the crash told the 20 Khvilin website that the Su-27 was spinning as it was going down. “It began rotating when it was flying above the settlement. The pilots were drawing the plane into the field” away from the village, she said.
The jet was taking part in Clear Sky 2018, a joint military exercise with NATO members taking place October 8 through 19 in Western Ukraine. Other participants include the US, Belgium, the UK, Denmark, Poland, Estonia, the Netherlands, Poland and Romania.
When advertising the drills on his Facebook page, President Petro Poroshenko said NATO soldiers have “a lot to learn” from Ukrainians, and warned that, if Russia launched airstrikes against Ukraine, the cost would be “very high.”
