Along with the loud noise of the "hey!", a white smoke suddenly appeared in the mountainous area of Gangwon-do, South Korea yesterday. In just three or four seconds, this thing exploded.

South Koreans who are climbing nearby have seen an uncommon scene – they have witnessed the first accident of South Korea’s new domestic “Tiangong” surface-to-air missile.

According to the report of the Yonhap News Agency on March 18, the South Korean Air Force reported on the same day: "At about 10:38 am today (18th), the Tiangong missile in the maintenance of the Chuncheon Air Force was abnormally launching a missile. The missile then blew up near the base. ""

The military explained that after detecting an abnormal state, the missile normally started the self-destruct device. “There has been no loss of personnel and property so far. The Air Force Headquarters will set up an accident investigation class to investigate the specific cause of the accident.”

The Chosun Ilbo quoted military sources as saying that "it seems that the missile was not fired by pressing the launch button."

On November 2, 2017, Sky Bow Block1 fired for the first time and hit a target of about 40 kilometers at Mach 4.5. This time is the first accident of the "Tiangong" missile. Unfortunately, the accident was seen by nearby civilians.

As can be seen from a live photo, the missile dragged the winding trail. The military explained, "Because the missile was launched without a certain target, the trail is not straight but curved."

Witnesses said: "Suddenly!"! Everything flew up after a moment, and after 3 or 4 seconds, '咚!' exploded." The nearby mountain climber said: "Although it has not reached the level of ear pain. But the sound is really very loud."

"Tiangong" is a Korean-made medium-range surface-to-air missile that replaces the old-fashioned Hawker missile. The development cost of the missile was about 800 billion won (about 4.75 billion yuan), and it received technical support from Russia. Sky Bow Block1 is used to intercept targets such as fighters. The SkyBlock Block2 used to intercept ballistic missiles has not yet been equipped.

The Sky Bow missile adopts a vertical launch mode, and each launch vehicle is loaded with eight missiles. The single issue is worth about 1.5 billion won (about 8.9 million yuan).
