There are deep and steep cliffs valleys under the water... jus like Himalayas mountains raising towards the sky...
As the force of the sea water pick up speed it slams at the faces of the cliffs which lifted up the water to form huge waves....
If the seabed was flat it will not created huge waves... only rocky cliff type terrains will create huge waves....
Compare to this manmade wave in the pool the water is push by moving walls mounted on hydraulic pistons system.
In this video u can see a huge platform vessel pressed downwards to create huge waves......
So u can made a 3 km long platform to create huge waves aim at carrier position...
1. All you need is a 2-5 m high wave just good enough to beat and rock the carrier render the planes hard to land and take off...
2. Constant rocking the carrier will cause the crews get seasick and things fall off tables and chairs easily render duties hard to manage and control....
Finally the carrier can be abandon and failed miserably and render the carrier obsolete....
