Dear All,
I am appealing for eye-witnesses and in-vehicle video of a car accident.
Place: Yishun Ave 2
Time: 30 January 2022 (5:45PM)
It was a small accident where I accidentally hit a taxi on the back. We agreed to resolve it privately and I handed the taxi driver $1500 in cash for repair and damages.
Later that day, the taxi driver filed for insurance claim. I confronted him because we agreed to settle it privately and now he is filing a claim against my insurance for repair and damages when I have already paid him.
The taxi driver pretended that he did not receive the money and insisted on filing a claim against my insurance when I have already paid him.
I made the mistake of not writing it down in black & white when I handed him the money.
I am hoping that someone could have drove by during that day and perhaps captured the footage of me handling him the $1500 in cash as we were just standing along the roadside.

U pay exorbitant premiums for car insurance every year. Why the fark u r not using it? And choose to do "private settlement" and get played out by the other party? Never trust a taxi driver.

I was drunk driving once snd banged into a honda. He emergency brake for no reason. Just gave my card and yold the guy i'd pay for damages. I was not suppose yo be driving.

the taxi does not belong to the taxi driver as such he cannot agree to a private settlement.
in any case, the taxi driver should be made to sign a private settle waiver.
