how many of you feel yourself conned after recontracting with singtel?

when i recontract, i told the ST counter salesman that i wanna reduce my monthly telcos cost. he recommended me a MIOTV PLAN which he said would be cheaper at flat rate of about $68. instead when the bill came, it was like $140+!

naturally, i called billing to ask why and they told me to wait for a couple of mths. the charges would be rebated and greatly reduced. 2 mths passed and still it is at $140+.

MIO TV which was something i didn't ask for was recommended. i only needed a mobile, a broadband and a land line. off i went to CONCENTRE. this time i demanded to liaise with a higher level personnel who was helpful.

he re-did everything and offered a new MIO plan according to what i needed.
this was greatly better as the new plan waive the 3mths subscription charges off my land line.

then the bill came. there was a dunno what bill stated as "PHONE BACK UP" charge for $2. what the hell was that? again, called 1688 to enquire. it was a another redundant service which i didn't ask for but billed for the past 3 mths.

they promised to waive and rebate. but now the bill came again, NOTHING WAS CREDITED BACK TO ME. ST waived off only 60c based on the mth which i called up to complain. for those past 3 mths where they had charged me, they didn't rebate me as promised:mad:

just go imagine. how many unwary subscribers singtel has and were billed this charge without knowing what it is? if there is one million subscribers, singtel would have conned an extra cool $2M per mth.

so the next time when u sign a contract with singtel, make sure it's a CONTRACT and not a CONTRAP even if u do it in ther CONCENTRE their salespeople are mostly out to smoke u n do not offer u the best plan according to your needs.

i wanted to file a complain officially to INFOCOMM about the unethical practices singtel deploys. another example if u r their newly broadband subscriber, they have 3 mths free antivirus provision but once that's over, u gotta inform them that u wanna opt out if not, they continue billing u extra.

singtel antivrus is for their singnet email service - a lame and user unfriendly gadget that i do not even bother to us. (u get mostly spam emails fr singtel).

there are more issues involved here where they didn't keep their promises.

when u sign a new contract with them, demand them to write it in black and white. do not fall into their CONTRAP that's going to zap ur money for 24 mths.:oIo:
 
by the way, a special website where u could email your complaint is now made obselete.

singtel give u another site where u can only restrict the numbers of words to 1000.

and do not anticipate a reply that satiate your displeasure or your feeling of being conned.:oIo:

Dear Sir,

i was at COMCENTRE recently to enquire about a free mobile handset which i was entitled and which singtel didn't inform me about.

while there, service personnel CLARENCE LOH (salesman code: 8085) attended to me and offered me the above MIO TV BUNDLE.

i was enticed to recontract my handphone. however now i m looking at the new bill and what that was promised to me during that time before i signed on the dotted line is TOTALLY DIFFERENT from the bil.

instead of being assured that i would be billd the same old rate of $20 , now i m being billed $24. on top of that, in my old contract, i enjoy FREE CALLER-ID, now i m being billed $5/mth which also included a one time $10 caller-id registration fee.

c'mon singtel, how could u guys always seduced me into some deal that i always ended up very pissed?!! if my handphone bill is increased instead of decrease, it doesn't make sense for me to renew my contract cos i do not see the logic and benefit which as a loyal Singtel subscriber should be subjected to.

please waive off whatever nonsense charges which i find irrelevant and which iwas in a way "conned" into paying for a deal that's to me wasn't very honest nor sincere! :(

As for the mobile plan under Starhub that credits unused free airtime, do take note that this is only for their very old plan which has since been obsolete. They are no longer offering these credits anymore unless you are still signed to the plan.

For your reference, your bills will hit $100 once every three months, as this is when your residential lines are billed for the subscrption.

i had visited and talked to your officer regarding the above. we have agreed that i would try out the new contract/format and see if i really DO SAVE.

after a couple of months, if i find that i m still under-using , then perhaps i shall consider reverting to my old plan. i shall inform you later when i have decided whether i do indeed benefit from the new contract.

the crux of the matter was: i specifically stressed to your sales personnel that i would want to reduce the cost of my monthly phone bills. at this point of time, due to the new billing system, i ve yet to see REAL SAVINGs (if any).

i was surprised that if i break up the broadband which is now offered by singtel at only $30 per mth with my land line and original handphone plan, i would probably end up paying lesser than the new contract.

there was misconception about how the plan were presented to me. i originally thought that my mobile is incorporated into the MIOTV package and ALL-IN, land line, broadband, miotv and handphone would only be totalled up as one lump sum of $46.90.

next was the landline, i thought i wouldn't have to pay any more every 3-mths once subscription of $27.50. in addition i was entitled to unlimited call-outs which isn't so :( after checking with 1688.

i m still disorientated by singtel's very confusing and misleading agressive sales tactic and would have to wait for my next phone bill before i would really comprehend whether there was really a "too good a deal to be missed" offered by singtel.

the bill came and it was still $140 +!! that's it! off i went to bang table again the next day!!:mad:

if u follow the event when i recontract with singtel, it has been a continuous unhappy and frustrating liaison a few visits to COMCENTRE - and still ending up not what i suppose to get as promised.

when i was first enticed to receive a free handphone and to recontract, your counter salesman misled me to sign up a MIOTV promising there would be saving. well, there wasn't in reality! the bills were more exhorbitant than before. the worst part, i had no interest in MIOTV programs which broke down more often and frustrate one further.

I BASICALLY NEED : 1. UNLIMITED BROADBAND with satisfactory speed.
2. TWO LAND LINES
3. MY MOBILE PHONE WITH ALL THE PAST VALUE-ADDED SERVICES WHICH I WAS ENJOYING FOR FREE. (i ve ungraded it for free incoming calls. )

feeling exasperated, i went COMCENTRE or CON CENTRE to complain about this "recontract" thingy which didn't fit my requirement. finally, another salesman understood my plight and patiently re-do the whole recontract. i was told that since i got a 2nd home line, this could be given a 50% which was stated in the above AGREEMENT.


i m retired and my primarily intention is to cut out unnecessary domestic costs but each time i go to COMCENTRE, u guys don't seem to be honest enough to provide me with the best solution.

just a some time ago, a SINGTEL canvassing salesperonnel visited me and told me that there is an even more econimical MIO PLAN which offers unlimited broadband for 10 Mbps, land line and handphone at about $46+ per month.

how could i refrain myself from having this feeling about not given the best offer and the sense of regret after signing a singtel contract or recontract each time?

i appreciate u can track the loyalty my family and i have trusted SINGTEL for so many years and i hope i wouldn't have to change telcos when my current contract expires. :(

so guys, do be very careful when u sign on their dotted line of their CONTRAP. whatever u doubt what they promise u, ask them to write it down black n white in the contract and remember to ask that ST personel to sign it.:mad:

singtel called me up to explain. i told them to stop pissing me off if they couldn't do as promised. what's the point of explaining. i still ended up paying more:oIo:

has anyone wonder why still have to pay $27.50 per every 3 mhs and yet u still get billed every month each time u make a call from your landline?

i think there is no FREE AIRTIME allocated to the land line. $27.50 is without gst.

singtel is definitely profiteering from this monopolised business. starhub and m1 have to subcontact from singtel which is the dominant telco source.

this means there is NO REAL COMPETITION here. it's a monopoly like our public transport. consumers are left with no choice but at singtel's mercy.

No a fake PRC like you should have said : Although $128 is very expensive, i don't have to pay for it and i got my 68 year old boyfriend to buy it for me. :D
