Serious How to prepare for WW3?

They don't pay me enough to look it up. So fantasy discussion on fantasy facts will suffice. Your word is good enough for this purpose.

Agree it will be logistically difficult, but the distance between Sumatra and Batam isn't that far and it's surrounded by islands for them to hop from. It won't be easy holding onto Batam after the initial landings. They could simply turn it into a wasteland by blasting the shit out of the island and make it unsuitable for agricultural. Or send insurgents in long after the fighting is done. Yes batam is a softer target than johor, but keeping it fit for purpose (of agriculture) will be arguably more difficult.

I'm not convinced a push into batam will be ignored by the neighbors in the north. Hawks in their moronic government might not sit idly by as we expand south, especially in a situation of ww3. They need not conquer, only disrupt.

A decisive battle to take johor from the federation seems more logical in the longer run in terms of holding on to the territory. Especially if we have a cooperative sultan. The logistical difficulty of intervening will keep the indons out of the conflict. And their ability to disrupt will be minimal compared to the north.

Of course, this is a gaming/fantasy/planning scenario we are doing here. But you still have to apply logic to it, which u are not in any supply of.

Exactly how will they blast the islands to bits? with what? U think they have huge amounts of artillery, shells and explosives stored on the Riau islands? U think they have a huge nuclear bomb hidden in a whore house in batam?

Sumatra is not far away as the crow flies, but its still a few hours sailing. At least 10 hrs. But they need a suitable port and jump off point from that part of Sumatra. In other words, they will need a few weeks to assemble ships, troops, and then embark them at the sumatran port and sail them to Batam to retake the island from us. And that is if they even have enough of the right kind of ships like LST, and amphibious craft. In the meantime, what is our air force and navy doing? masturbating? U think the RSAF would not sink this fuckers while they are still in port? U think our subs wouldn't torpedo half their fleet before they even get half way?

Thank goodness you're not in mindef then. Your conventional thinking betrays that. Since we're sinking to personal insults.

They can easily saturate batam from Sumatra. You think the national pride of 300million indons will allow us to hold on to Batam easily and turn it into an agriculture paradise?

The issue is holding on to the south and fending off disruptions from the north. A decisive battle in the north will be more feasible.
