Next time ; go check out the Car Decal pasted on the Windscreen . Chances these taxi are the Heavy Weight Por Lum Par who No need to drive as they go about their Por Lum Par work.
A few , chosen ones , even got special Taxi Decal to allow them to drive their Cabs to JB .

It pays to be a Por Lum Par .

yes i used to know an uncle who can drive his cab to JB but he is not the Singapore-JB type of taxi...just a normal blue NTUC type.......he used to joke that he got connections at the customs that let him pass......

i seen one at my place.........best is never seen the cab leave the carpark always parked same spot.
i have seen another parked at landed driveway.....which is my friend's neighbour.
Maybe MSM say cabbies can make 6K is true.

no lah... some cabbies drive to pass time only. my uncle is one of them, now 60yo, son & daughter earning more than enough to provide comfortable living. by right can sit at home shake leg play with grandchildren but continue to drive cab to earn some extra income plus have a vehicle for transport. machiam rent car but have chance to earn money to cover car rental.

SG taxi can drive passenger to JB but cannot pick up passenger in JB.
