While waiting in line to buy a special edition of the evening papers at Sun Plaza yesterday, when a group of three men bumped into another in the queue. Things later turned violent, with three of the men injured.
The queue was for Lianhe Wanbao and Shin Min Daily News which came with a free sachet of coffee powder and four lucky numbers in a red packet, reported The New Paper.
When the group bumped into a man around 5.50pm, angry words, threats and vulgarities were exchanged. Later, the 39-year-old man spotted the group at the back of Sun Plaza and chased them with an 18cm-long knife.
Two men in their 40s and the 39-year-old were taken via ambulance to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, said the SCDF. The 39-year-old was also arrested by police for voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous means.
