As a self-sabotage coach, I educate people on how media manipulates the subconscious mind to install self-defeating programs and patterns into their life, so that you automatically make choices which make you ineffective, dependent, and easy to steal from.
The primary emotional imprint used against us is fear, because when the subconscious mind has something to fear, one's mode of thinking is naturally transferred from the rational part of the mind, to the reactive, emotional and reptilian part of the mind.
This means we make unconscious decisions based on the need to escape the immediate danger or discomfort, rather than consistently choose to do what makes long-term sense for the betterment of our lives.
Colors have psychological meaning, and it's no secret that warm colors like red and orange are associated with fear, crisis and terror. (Remember Homeland Security's Terror Alert System?)
Here's a great example of how the media can present the same information, but in two different ways.
The latter version is meant to scare you, and to trigger the unconscious fight or flight response, so that any authoritative suggestion thereafter is more easily accepted by you.
This kind of stuff is all around you, constantly affecting your ability to do what's best for you.
Please join me in an upcoming event Overcome Self-Sabotage 2022 for a deep dive into this, plus a powerful one-on-one coaching session to examine and improve the programs running in your subconscious mind... https://bit.Iy/3S4364W
