I often see elderly men, women, deaf and mute persons selling Big Sweep tickets at hawker centres and kopishops.
Once in a while, I will support them by buying a couple of tickets, not because I condone gambling but I really pity them. I will then give these tickets to my mum.
I have absolutely no idea how much they make per ticket sold. I pity them because our "esteemed" multi-millionaire Ministers are oblivious to the plight of these under privileged class in society.
For my own knowledge, I just want to know how much can they make a day. Can it cover 3 meals or at least 2?
While Singapore Pools benefits from sales of these tickets, I am sure these sellers do not get health benefits nor any form of insurance should they fall or injure themselves while Singapore Pools take all the profit.
Fair?
Sad. Real tragedy for this nation.
