The two-storey gallery chronicles how far the Home Team has come since the concept was first mooted in 1996.
It also chronicles how various agencies under the Home Affairs Ministry had worked together in drug busts and emergency situations since the 1970s. The agencies include the police, Singapore Civil Defence Force and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority.
Opened by Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Secuity S. Jayakumar, the gallery will be used by some 4,000 new Home Team trainees during a common eight-day basic training course.
The 10,150 sq ft gallery, which is housed in the premises of the Home Team Academy in Old Chua Chu Kang Road, will be opened to the public next year. ST PHOTO: SHAHRIYA YAHAYA
