People may hate him.But credit must be given to this man.Alot of changes since my childhood days even though the changes is not change by him alone.

Credit to the Old Fart? He had been making mistakes after mistakes. In fact early in his PMship he already made a mammoth mistake of getting S'pore into Malaysia that wasted so much time and resources. And his policy of stopping at two is taking its toll now. He was so gung ho, so full of himself in his younger days. Now, he is begging for recognition, with the help of his son and using public resources to do that.

He has been pretty useless for last decade.

I don't think old man's global view is that good in the last ten years. He has missed many issues, maybe because of poor health and wife illness, he travel less and meet less people. Hence his insights are of little value.

He wasn't very good too in his supposedly prime ...look at the Suzhou investment as an example ...that is a monumental slap on his face. He thought he understood the Chinese and pumped in billions of our money into the project. At the end of the day, the Chinese ate him up and only cough him out after much pleading and concessions given by the sinkapore government. Billions were still lost and unreported.

Maybe the influx of PRC to sinkapore was part of the deal that LKY made with the Chinese?
