The defense industry is one of the most corrupt in the world. Lots of briberies, graft, etc. going on. U better believe some kickbacks happening from the defense contractors back to the MIW. There is no reason why we need F-15s, stealth frigates, etc. Selling weapons is a small part of their business. By and large, they have not met with great scuccess here.

But it is definitely not true about the Wall Street bankers being well regulated, etc....the tax payers in the West are all up in arm over the astronomical payouts to all these Wall Street execs which require tax payers'money to bail them out in 2008.

Political money is a top secret in singapore unlike other democratic countries.

If you know how much billions they have from GIC and Temesak, you can be charged under the top secret act and ISA will put u in jail for all eternity.

In Singapore, knowing someone in power who is corrupt is a criminal offence. Reminds me of the case of JBJ who was informed by Tang Liang Hong that he had made a police report against the ministers. JBJ subsequently told the crowd at the rally and was duly punished by the scums in white.

Chartered and its successor companies have sold weapons all over the world. Mostly to countries that are under an arms embargo. Myanmar is just one. Some african countries are very well equipped with Chartered weapons, as were the Bosnians, etc. However, overall, the exports have paled in comparison to the imports.

I never said the Wall Street bankers were well regulated. I used the word scrutinised. The regulatory process is one based on essentially the honour system. The SEC just does not have the manpower or resources to verify every single claim made by a wall street banker. They only investigate when there is a complain. However, once the process is started, the SEC, media, etc. scrutinize the hell out of the perpetrator. In singapore, it never even gets to the complain stage.
