Why not? The president's term does not correspond with the term of the MPs. You could have a WP parliament and a President Tony Tan half way through his term.

Good suggestion, I am telling LHL/LKY that you serve only 63% so you should adjust your salary down ward, don't play cheat or else Karma come after you and your family.

since he only garner 35% vote, he is obliged to the 35% voters. and he should only be paid for that... and no more. so pls fly him on economy next time.
