There are mobs but your unit might not necessarily be activated. Sometimes it is due to budget constraints or logistics cockups.

Same logic as: you may take a woman out for dinner, but you may not get to bed her after the wining and dining.

Had a recall manning once thus far. A few years ago, on a Saturday afternoon. It's usually on a Saturday.

Go there, take attendance and fuck off. Just a wayang waste of time.

Oh, and don't be a twit and pack all the heavy stuff (e.g. full sets of uniform, mess tin) into your field pack, then huff and puff and sweat like a pig carrying that bulky nonsense to the camp. Nobody is going to check.

Because Singapore transport sytems were invaded by foreigners, no point mobilise local army and get squeezed out of the carriage or surrounded by pinoy, Ah Neh, PRC giggling at our son-in-green. I would have felt intimidated under that sceniaro.
