A "sleepy" taxi driver knocked into a motorcyclist and ended up dragging the motorcycle along the road , says STOMPer Vettel.He feels all 'cabbies' should be warned.

The STOMPer said in an email:

"An accident between a taxi and motorcycle happened at around 11pm on July 11, in front of Pioneer Mall at Jurong West St 71.

"The motorcycle was dragged along the rough road surface for a good 100 metres before the taxi driver realised what he had done.

"Perhaps the taxi driver was sleepy and therefore, oblivious to his surroundings.

"When the taxi driver got out of his car, he had the cheek to claim he had not hit the motorcyclist down.

"Police and SCDF personnel were deployed as the motorcyclist, who was bleeding profusely, was conveyed to the hospital by ambulance.

A piece of advice to all 'cabbies': please do not drive if you are tired - you might just cause an accident."

In response to a STOMP query, the police said:

"Police received a call on July 11 at about 11pm, informing us of a traffic accident along Jurong West St 71, towards Jurong West Ave 4 near Blk 701, involving a taxi and a motorcycle.

The rider, a Malay man in his mid-20s, and his pillion rider, a Malay woman in her 20s, were conveyed to NUH.

"Police are investigating the incident."
