Here's the maid involved in man's fall from Jurong flat: She's sent back to Indonesia
A Singaporean man had fallen for an Indonesian maid, literally. The man, who was caught on video jumping three storeys down from a Jurong West block after being caught with the maid in the flat, said he jumped because she had told him to.
The man has ended up in hospital with a broken ankle.
STOMPer Nurul had sent in two videos to STOMP -- one showing the man jumping off the the third-storey unit at Block 857 Jurong West Street 81, and the other one showing him lying on the ground at the foot of the block in pain, surrounded by SCDF officers.
The man, who had been courting the maid for only six days, was caught by her employers when he met her for the first time in the flat. The employers had cut short a trip to Johor Bahru.
According to The New Paper, the man, identified by Police as a 21-year-old male Indian, had apparently jumped because the maid had told him to.
He and the maid, 24, had exchanged pictures of themselves on the first day of getting to know each other, and had promised to marry each other the next.
When they met for the first time in the flat on the sixth day of their courtship, tragedy struck.
The maid is married and has a four-year-old son, but was about to divorce her husband to be with her Singaporean boyfriend.
The maid has been sent back to Indonesia, but has promised her boyfriend that she will find a way to be with him.
