The announcement was made by Iran's foreign minister. In an immediate response, US president Donald Trump said 'Thank you'.

PETALING JAYA: Iran has announced that the Hormuz strait is “declared completely open” for passage of commercial vessels, for the remaining period of the two-week ceasefire with the US.
The announcement, in a post on X by foreign minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, was welcomed immediately by US president Donald Trump.

Araghchi said: “In line with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open for the remaining period of the ceasefire, on the coordinated route as already announced by the Ports and Maritime Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Forget about Iran, I've said time and again.

Next target will be China. Expect action in the Straits of Malacca or South China Sea.

I also expect Russia and China to have a quarrel about something or some event soon. :sneaky:

Fire Horse year, once every sixty years. Excitment guaranteed. Enjoy the show.

Hormuz is open but all Iranian ports are still blockaded.

Second round of Islamabad talks coming up

The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz suggests that negotiations between both parties are showing promise. Iran is currently allowing time for diplomacy to facilitate a 2nd round of ceasefire agreement and an eventual peace treaty; however, the situation remains freak. Iran remains wary as the U.S. continues to replenish its stockpiles of ammunition, cruise missiles, build up of the carrier fleet, and anti-air defense systems, damaged during the six-week war.
