"fair weather friends" come to mind, not only money problems, times when one is in need, whether a shoulder to cry on or gone into some emotional depth, especially telling; is when your friend knowing you take advantage of you..that is the best time, you know who your true friend is. I learn this very young watching "gu long" wuxia movies, his famous line from his "sentimental swordsman" novel ( movie also), "Your best friend, is your best enemy".
