城巴表示，今日上午約10時30分，一輛由天水圍開往金鐘方向的城巴967號線巴士，駛至三號幹線近佐敦支路時發生交通意外，意外中兩人死亡（包括城巴車長）及十多人受傷。城巴指會全力配合警方調查是次意外之經過及成因。
城巴透露，意外中喪命車長，於1998年8月入職，對上一次例假休息為2月27日，3月1日曾取病假；車長昨日上午8時 49分上班，下午6時35分下班，今日上午7時06分上班，事發時駕駛第三個單程。意外中的巴士車型為亞歷山大丹尼士 E500 12.8 米雙層巴士，車齡為兩年多，最近於 2 月 11 日通過檢驗。

【影片連結】西九龍公路奪命車禍，車CAM直擊意外片段曝光，有途經車輛車CAM拍得貨車因故障停在左二線，而其尾板亦已落下至水平角度，伸出在車尾後方，貨車後方的路面放有小型物件提醒司機，車斗內正有一名男子在工作。片段所見，一輛沿左二線駛至的中型貨車及時發現，司機即時扭向左線閃避，場面驚險。
另一段車CAM片段拍得城巴有左三線轉到左二線行駛，但不久即撞向貨車尾板，尾板直插城巴車頭，城巴司機位當場凹陷，整架城巴亦因衝力猛烈而「跳一跳」，車頭碎片四散飛開，貨車被推前溜向路肩。

【14:45】肇事貨車司機姪仔接到消息趕到醫院了解情況，指他們夫妻檔從事物流業多年，主要運送衣服，育有一名讀中三兒子，成績優異，已收到通知正趕往醫院。
他指時發時貨車因故障停下，司機下車先放置小物件提示後方車輛，並打算到車斗內用唧車放下較大物件作警示，怎料未及放下已遇上意外。
【11:55】巴士司機姓蘇59歲，貨車司機姓林54歲。警方於12時30分會交代調查進展。有巴士乘客向警員表示，意外前見到城巴司機不停拍打大腿。
【11:25】另一名傷者送院搶救後亦不治，意外造成2人死亡。
【11:00】現場消息稱，涉事的是物流公司貨車，當時男司機載同妻子駛至事發附近時，貨車突然故障，司機遂將車停在左二線，並召拖車處理，期間，司機及妻子下車等候，並打開尾板，準備將部分電子零件卸下。未幾，一輛由天水圍開往金鐘的967號城巴駛至時，懷疑收掣不及撼前，直插中型貨車車尾，城巴司機飛跌出車外，當場斷腳傷重不治。而貨車司機亦被撞至重傷，由到場救護車送院搶救。

西九龍公路發生嚴重交通意外。今日(4日)早上10時許，一輛城巴沿西九龍公路往尖沙咀方向行駛，至漾日居對開時，與前方一輛中型貨車發生相撞，意外中造成多名乘客受傷。途經司機見狀報警求助，巴士乘客下車到路邊等候救援，救護員到場，初步1名男子明顯死亡，另外16名傷者需送院治理。警方正在現場調查意外原因。
運輸署宣布，因交通意外西九龍公路往西區海底隧道方向近佐敦道的部分行車線封閉。駕駛人士只可使用餘下行車線行車。現時在西九龍公路往西區海底隧道方向的車龍龍尾已到奧海城2期。現時上址交通擠塞。
