HONG KONG - Hong Kong star Raymond Lam seems to have embroiled himself in yet another scandal.
On March 10, 22-year-old TV host Wen Ya from Hunan, China, revealed on a microblogging site that she would make good use of the opportunity that came with meeting Raymond Lam. She even uploaded a photo that she had taken with Lam.
Just last week, Lam had admitted to a previous relationship with Taiwanese model Pan Shuangshuang, whom he dated for several months after they met while shooting for a drama series, when "bedroom photos" of them were leaked.
Lam, nicknamed "Hong Kong Drama Prince", has star billing in numerous productions shown in China, Hong Kong and this region, including Malaysia and Singapore. The most recent TVB dramas he starred in are "Men With No Shadows" and "Growing Through Life".
China media reported that Wen and Lam were seen dining together at a hotel in Beijing and entering a hotel room together after that.
The incident was reported to have taken place at about 6pm on March 16 in the Regency Hotel in Beijing.
A reporter had spotted a woman wearing sunglasses at the hotel lobby and, upon close observation, realised that it was Wen.
The reporter followed Wen to the second floor and saw her having dinner with Lam in the hotel's restaurant, along with some of their crew members. The pair was seen chatting animatedly, enjoying each others' company.
The reporter also used her mobile phone to capture a photograph of Wen and Lam dining together.
It was also reported that after dinner, both parties' crew members left the restaurant while Wen and Lam remained.
The pair then entered a service apartment on the same floor of the hotel and did not leave the room for a long time.
However, further investigation by the Hong Kong press revealed that Lam was in Beijing on March 10, and not March 16.
Also, based on the photo uploaded by Wen, Lam was wearing a black jacket with a red hood, which was the same outfit that he was wearing when photographed with Wen. This seemed to indicate that Wen and Lam met on March 10, rather than March 16.
Wen had taken part in the Miss China pageant in 2009 but had not gone far in the pageant.
