HK Stanley Ho kicked the bucket at 98

Stanley Ho created wealth. LKY was a small-time barrister who married into the right family and got lucky.

You should study your Familee tree instead of accepting the approved official version of Sinkieland history.

How many people did he kill to get to where he is?

Splitting up the inheritance should be quite a big task.

It is okay for them to kill each other to get a piece of the pie. Survival of the fittest, a lifestyle promoted by Sam.

Sg unlikely. sad.

Ho 's advice to Punters - "Dont Gamble"

The silver haired ah mah in the picture is Lisa Lu.. a Beijing born and opera trained actress who went to US to become one of the more famous Asian american actors. She played the family matriarch in Crazy Rich Asians

She must be quite a somebody in the Chinese circles of her generation. She's even good friends with old Shanghai mob boss Du Yuesheng's daughter.

Stanley Ho was born into a rich family clan but during childhood his family hit hard by the Great Depression.

If i recall correctly his father had even committed suicide due to failed business.

One of the life changing lessons Stanley Ho told was when he had toothache as a child and went to see a relative who was a dentist. The dentist knew that his family had fallen into hard times and refused to use anesthetics while extracting young Stanley's tooth. Stanley Ho endured the pain and humiliation and cried all the way home and told his mother that he would be rich man so that he would never be humiliated again.

This sequence was reenacted in Andy Lau's movie Casino Raiders

Apparently none.

One of Stanley Ho's biggest reason for being so successful for so long was he steered clear of triad involvement. I'm sure he dealt with them - but he was never directly involved in the mob's dirty businesses.

In the mid 90s the Chinese government sent undercover police to clean up the triads before Macau's handover in 99. This further solidified his position as the king of Macau casinos.

Like all successful businessmen he worked hard and bet correctly on which sides to take.

Whether the casino business is as "dirty" as mob business I leave that argument to your childish Hollywood inspired imagination

Maybe ur the one bedazzled by all the Hollywood glitz portrayal of this man....how is mob running a underground casino empire any different from this man?just because he is legalised mobster?

IV been to tons of underground poker games....it's so easy to make money from gambling activities when u are the house.the players or at least the good ones do alright.....but the house....the house gets the lion's share....insane money....overnight riches....

this guy is no li Ka shing or Richard Branson or ray dalio.....so many entrepreneur tycoons, magnates and business geniuses....yet he chose the easiest way out.....why not ray dalio instead?that guy is an intellectual think tank if u read his book principles....or Aliko dangote?or buffet or naval ravikant?

Just like Sheldon adelson,a scumbag thru and thru.trump too but Sheldon is a hundred times more cunning.

Hell if gambling was legalised in sg.....even a single slot machine could generate more revenue than a taxi driver driving 14 hours a day 7 days a week....I would just open a bar or cafe or petrol station and park three machines there like las Vegas airport.pretty soon I will have a hundred bars and petrol stations with slot machines.

Well if you want to list the number of people you like more than Stanley Ho.. it's your prerogative to judge a casino mogul

It doesn't make his legacy less remarkable.
