警車跌出催淚彈，遭房車撞及捲車底，警方封鎖現場調查。
【星島日報報道】一輛警方衝鋒車昨晚途經中區干諾道中時，車上一箱4枚催淚彈跌出車外，疑遭尾隨一輛房車輾及，催淚彈損毀隨即冒煙，房車司機睹狀受驚落車走避，警方事後封鎖現場調查，事件中無人受傷。警方正調查該裝備為何會從警車跌出路面。
盛四彈鐵箱跌出衝鋒車
事發於昨晚9時25分，一輛警方衝鋒車沿中環干諾道中東行，當途至近大會堂對開時，消息稱，警車內裝備其中盛有4枚催淚彈的鐵箱，突然跌出車外，其間一輛平治房車駛至，車頭撞及鐵箱並捲入車底，懷疑最少一枚催淚彈損毀冒出刺眼異味的催淚氣體，房車司機大驚立即停車，並跳車逃出車外，車底遺下一些碎片。
大批警員接報馳至並封鎖現場調查，多輛消防車亦到場戒備， 事後爆炸品處理課人員亦奉召前來，查驗該箱催淚彈損毀情況，幸事件中無人受傷。爆炸品處理課人員檢走爆炸催淚彈碎片，另3個未爆的催淚彈亦由警檢走，及至房車由拖車拖走後，現場於凌晨零時30分解封。警方正追查警車內裝備為何會跌出車外。
據悉，平治女車主任職律師，其後由警車載走。
而據了解，為應付突發事故及防暴需要，每輛衝鋒車均配備防暴裝備，當中包括戰術保護衣、避彈衣、圓盾、MP5衝鋒槍、俗稱「大口仔」的法德魯38毫米防暴槍、雷明登870型鳥槍、4個手擲催淚煙彈，及多彈頭橡膠彈和催淚煙子彈各10粒。

警方衝鋒車懷疑在中環干諾道中街頭，無故跌出催淚彈，被後至的Benz私家車撞毀，爆出陣陣異味濃煙。警方迅即封鎖現場，同時消防員亦接報到場，按照洩漏氣體程序戒備及處理。
由於涉及武器，警方爆炸品處理課(EOD)亦隨即出動，趕至處理，據知拆彈專家檢查後，認為該催淚彈情況已穩定，故於5月8日(星期三)深夜11時許，將其檢走調查。現場消息稱，涉及跌裝備的衝鋒車，為港島衝鋒隊car 6。
一名事發時身處干諾道中大會堂對開行人路的目擊者稱，首次感受到催淚彈威力：「只係些少爆，但個鼻好辛苦！」他向《香港01》表示，晚上9時許在大會堂看畢戲劇後，發現一輛私家車停在干諾道中路中央，地上有3、4個不明物體，同時嗅到刺鼻氣味：「陣味好啃！」
他形容，現場有數名警員，均大為緊張，拉起封鎖線，多輛警車及消防車隨後趕至。由於現場氣味刺鼻，他即時猜測為催淚彈，亦聽到其他途人稱，有警車跌出催淚彈，並遭私家車輾爆。他形容事件「好意想不到」，幸現場途人不多，警方處理迅速。由於催淚煙令他鼻感敏發作，所以駐足一分鐘後，便匆匆離開。
至於涉事的Benz房車，據知事發時正由一名女司機駕駛，疑因爆出刺鼻濃煙，嚇到棄車而逃。根據資料顯示，該車由一名姓韋女車主登記，她報住港島薄扶林道一屋苑。就現場所見，兩名女士隨段返回現場了解情況，隨後被重案組探員帶走。消息稱，其中一人任職律師。拖車隨後將涉事私家車拖往扣車中心助查。
