昨日凌晨約三時半，港島總區衝鋒隊7號車一車四人，早前在銅鑼灣處理完一宗墮海案件後，沿灣仔駱克道擬返回灣仔警察總部，當駛至軍器廠街交界警總對開，車上警員發現一名戴帽及口罩、穿黑衣黑褲的男子，手持一個已點燃的玻璃樽往警總方向前行。當黑衣男行至軍器廠街的二、三線之間，在瞥見警車後又轉身行回路邊，其身後停泊一輛遮蓋車牌的黑色平治房車。
平治逃去 衝鋒車未即時追捕
警員覺有可疑遂減慢車速，正擬落車截查之際，黑衣男突然轉身衝向警車飛擲一枚汽油彈，但疑因力度不夠，汽油彈擲中警車左車頭後再反彈落地，爆開火球燃燒及冒出火光，一道熊熊火線穿過警車車底，車上警員似未及反應，駛前約十五米在彎位處停下。有目擊者稱，狂徒得手後迅即跑回平治從右邊上車，不顧危險穿越「火線」剷上軍器廠街行車天橋，往告士打道方向逃去無蹤。
衝鋒車警員沒受傷，因不清楚是否有其他爆炸品或危險品，又未知警車損毀情況及是否適合繼續駕駛，故落車查看而未有即時追捕。消防接報到場，火勢已經熄滅，大批警員封鎖現場，同時展開「捷進行動」，調派各區警員看守主要交通要道及設置路障檢查，追緝涉案平治房車。現場所見，馬路遺下約十八呎燒過的痕迹及玻璃樽碎片，衝鋒車左邊車身熏黑。爆炸品處理課人員到場搜證，用紙巾吸走遺留路面的液體，以及檢走玻璃樽碎片化驗。機動部隊警員則一字排開，沿軍器廠街上行車天橋搜證，早上近七時始解封。
詎料至昨午近四時，一輛遮蓋車牌的黑色平治房車，駛至跑馬地成和道六十號跑馬地分區警署外，一名身高約一米六五、戴淺色帽，穿淺色恤衫的口罩男子，突朝警署投擲一枚汽油彈後踩油逃去。警署外瞬間火光熊熊冒濃煙，火種其後自行熄滅，外牆及地面熏黑遺下玻璃碎，幸無人傷。
警方翻查現場一帶「天眼」片段並採取「捷進行動」，約一個半小時後，在鰂魚涌英皇道八百六十七號對開截獲懷疑涉案平治，其後在附近一幢大廈梯間及北角富澤花園，先後拘捕四名男子（廿二至六十歲），據悉有人疑有黑幫背景。初步調查顯示，在大廈梯間被捕的男子，懷疑涉及灣仔及跑馬地兩宗投擲汽油彈的縱火案，據悉曾有誤導警員及襲警前科，不排除有仇警心理。另兩名疑犯相信是其同黨，屬朋友關係，其餘一名六十歲疑犯相信是其中一名疑犯居住大廈的車場看更。

有組織罪案及三合會調查科總警司黃維表示，經調查後證實疑犯單獨行事，今日警方亦對犯案車輛及證物進行科學鑑證。警方又翻查涉案地點附近的閉路電視，發現疑犯犯下2宗案件前，曾到油站購買電油，並非為車輛加油，而是取走。油站附近便利店的閉路電視亦發現，疑犯曾在店內購買啤酒，與現場檢獲作汽油彈的啤酒同款。目前證據已加強。
黃續指，警方將落案起訴其中一名疑犯相關罪名，其他3人則擔保外出候查。警方將繼續調查犯案動機、主謀、共犯等細節。
被問到明日民陣發起反《逃犯條例》修訂遊行，盧偉聰指警方在遊行前將進行風險評估及部署，知悉主辦單位亦增派糾察維持秩序。盧呼籲市民遊行時保持和平理性，勿以激進暴力方式表達意見。
