林形容意外過程嚇人難以形容
【星島日報報道】上水名都一名64歲女住客倒斃升降機槽底，身兼北區區議員的民主黨議員林卓廷，丈夫、兒子及家屬相當悲痛，事件極度嚴重，是近年香港住宅最嚴重一次升降機事故。林卓廷要求，立法會開會討論改善監管承辦商制度，批評現時明顯力度不足，導致慘劇一再發生。
林卓廷表示，已聯絡機電署署長薛永恒通電話，要求徹查今次事件，檢查當局全面檢視名都內的升降機，並檢視相關承辦商、生産商在其他屋苑負責的升降機，以避免再發生嚴重事故。將電話交給死者兒子，署長對兒子作出慰問，希望找出原因，還死者公道。林卓廷透露，「死者出去買餸」想不到遭遇慘劇，自己雖然無看到閉路電視片段，但據他了解過程、死狀「相當難以形容」，太過嚇人。
他透露，死者家屬希望早日辦理死者後事，其次希望警方及機電書徹查事故，還一個公道。據他了解，管理公司、業主法團已經慰問家屬，但承辦商未接觸家屬。
林卓廷查詢過管理公司，12點45分聽到巨響，但3小時左右才抵達現場，完全不能接受，應該第一時間去到現場。雖然不知道會否改變結果，如果日後其他承辦商質素如此，會擔心市民安危。
