揭發事件的王憓向本報稱，他前日接獲一學生通知，說已購買其父王國潼今晚七時十五分在香港大會堂的「二胡大師班」演奏會門票，但該學生感奇怪，因王氏父子今晚八時在尖沙咀文化中心有另一場演奏會，質疑相距四十五分鐘如何分身，「仲要一個演奏會喺香港、一個喺九龍」。王憓其後在網上發現一張海報，原來是「法國五月」與香港音樂藝術學院的表演項目，上面竟印有他與父親的相片，演奏會日期正是今日，地點是文化中心。
王指，早前確有一名中間人邀請他們父子參與一個演奏會，但由於對方沒有誠意，一直未有簽署合約而最終作罷，質疑有人未經其父子許可，使用他們的照片魚目混珠。「點解會咁過分，喺節目介紹中話教授（其父）和我會表演？」認為是利用其父是中國一代二胡宗師和他的知名度作宣傳及推銷門票，嚴重誤導聽眾，違反《商品說明條例》，已向海關舉報及交由律師處理。

香港音樂藝術學院的負責人則表示，在海報印上二胡大師父子的照片，皆因早前有一個贊助商聲稱可以包場，包銷一千五百張門票，但必須加入王國潼、王憓父子一同演奏，對方曾出示合約故誤信他，結果發生今次事件，她說自己亦因此損失三十萬元。

海關發言人說已接獲相關舉報並適當跟進。根據《商品說明條例》，商戶不能將虛假商品說明應用於任何貨品或服務，惟每一宗個案情況有其獨特性，實際個案需要根據調查結果及相關證據才能判斷。
康文署回應說在四月三十日按既定程序，獲租用人核實參與節目的演出者符合申請時提交的資料。根據文化中心租用條款，租用人須負責其宣傳品不得製作、發布、展示或派發任何失實、偏頗、具誤導性或欺騙性的內容。租用人經已安排退款給購買音樂會的觀眾，就節目單張內容失實，署方會發信要求租用人解釋，並會調查事件。
