Upon receipt of the wind, the number of Japanese-style department stores will be one less. The main character of this year is Henderson Development (097) (Hengfa), which is not enough for the acquisition of "Life Creation Library" (now "UNY Hong Kong"). PIAGO.

In June and December 2010, respectively, UNY and PIAGO opened in Lok Fu Plaza and Kowloon Bay Telford Plaza Phase II. It is estimated that PIAGO plans to continue to operate until the end of March and will be the first to say goodbye and end more than eight years of business. The store has two floors in the second phase of Telford Plaza. The data shows that it covers an area of over 70,000 square feet. It has supermarkets and sales of groceries. In the same year, it introduced products from different parts of Japan and took the high-end route.

However, the former parent company FamilyMart UNY sold Hong Kong's entire business to Hengfa for 300 million yuan last year, and withdrew from the Hong Kong market like other Japanese counterparts, leaving only Aeon a Japanese-owned department store. As for Hengfa, it took only three Japanese department stores in June last year. It is not expected to reorganize the store portfolio so quickly. It is understood that the other two are located in the APITA of Taikoo Shing, Hong Kong Island. UNY and the UNY of Lok Fu, Kowloon, have not withdrawn their plans for the time being, and the business is going on as usual.

In fact, the two are leading stores and good locations. I believe that they are also one of the reasons for the acquisition by Hengfa. Therefore, they are retained. Moreover, Hengfa’s parent company is a large real estate developer Henderson Land (012) (Hengdi). After the withdrawal, it may be transferred to other shopping malls in Henderson Land to continue to open stores. As Hengfa’s other department store brand “Qianseian” is currently located in the New Territories and new towns, it is necessary to strive for high consumption in the urban areas. In the case of customers, it is normal to operate Japanese-style department stores, and look at Sun Hung Kai Properties (016) to acquire the morphing of Yitian Department Store, and to open a store in Xindi’s shopping malls, even for retail sales, Hengdi can naturally The marrow is known. I heard that Hengfa has an expansion plan, and it may be known when the annual results are announced.
