It’s official: Ah Boys To Men will be back on our big screen.
And not just a fourth instalment of the hit local film franchise, but a fifth as well.
Its director Jack Neo told The New Paper in Hong Kong: “The plan is to push them out starting in the second half of 2017... So we take a little break this year, next year we go into planning, then it’s 2017.”
He added that he is not worried about audiences growing tired of the Ah Boys.
“National Service stories have a lot of area to cover, there are many vocations,” he said. “In the US and elsewhere, they do a lot of the same type of movies too, like mafia movies. My cast and myself have been hounded by fans who want more of the series.”
The original cast of Joshua Tan, Tosh Zhang, Maxi Lim and Wang Weiliang — who are contracted to Neo’s JM Artiste Network — are also likely to reprise their roles.
